Gem City Barbers to Open along Erie's Bayfront

A new barbershop is set to open on Erie's bayfront this upcoming week.

Gem City Barbers, which is located at 34 State St., will celebrate its grand opening Friday, Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The food truck A Waffle Miracle will be on hand, and attendees will be able to take advantage of promotions.

The celebration will offer guests a first look at the modern barbershop, blending traditional techniques with new-age contemporary styles, according to the owners.

Co-owner Donald Woods said it's the bayfront's only barbershop.

"Our mission is to provide elite grooming services in a comfortable and friendly environment," said Woods in a statement. "We look forward to sharing our passion for barbering and creating a space where everyone feels at home."
