Erie County Grant to Help Expand Water Services in Greene, Millcreek Townships

A collaborative project between Erie Water Works, Greene Township and Millcreek Township is underway to expand water services.

Erie County officials presented a $74,000 grant for the work from the municipal infrastructure and gap program Monday at the Greene Township Municipal Building.

It will help bring public water access to Route 8 in both townships and to Interstate 90 in Millcreek Township.

Officials said the work will expand the economic growth of the area, attracting more businesses while providing support to current ones.

In addition, Kuhl Hose Fire Department will gain access to public water, which will reduce the time traveled for hydrant access and improve response times for fire emergencies.

Construction is not expected to begin until late 2025.
