The 8th Annual Trails at Jakes Rocks Trail Fest is underway in Warren County, drawing outdoor enthusiasts from all around.

John Papalia, Vice President of the Warren County Chamber of Business & Industry (WCCBI), shared what this event means for the community. “When I think of this event, I think it’s really a tribute to the trail system as a whole. We anticipate over 800 mountain bikers in for the event. It’s become a kind of tradition here to end the month of September with this celebration,” said Papalia.

Mountain bikers from all over have come to enjoy the trails during this year’s festival, which were recently named the 2024 Pennsylvania Trail of the Year and PA Wilds Event of the Year.

Adam Elms, a member of the Northern Allegheny Mountain Bike Association, commented on the event’s significance. “It’s a great culmination of Event of the Year, Trail of the Year, and as you can see, there are people here from all over Pennsylvania and surrounding states.”

Trail Fest participant Dawn Page added, “It’s super cool that there are so many people here and everyone is so friendly on the trail and off the trail.”

Another participant, Erik Ziesemheim, shared his thoughts on the atmosphere. “The camaraderie, down at the beach they have all the vendors, and everybody is just having a good time.”

This year’s Trail Fest highlights the growth and accomplishments of the Trails at Jakes Rocks, which began eight years ago with just 10 miles and have now expanded to over 30 miles, with plans to add another 11 miles in the coming years.

Papalia remarked on the event’s growth, saying, “We have been very fortunate to be able to grow this event each year, and we try to add a little more fun each time.”

As the Trails at Jakes Rocks Trail Fest continues to grow along with the trail system itself, event organizers are excited for another wonderful weekend.

The Trails at Jakes Rocks Trail Fest will continue until Sunday, September 22nd, and event organizers have noted that there is still plenty of time and spots left to join in on the fun.
