Erie Native & Former Olympian Ryan Zapolski Named Erie Otters Goaltending Coach

A former Olympian is now taking over as the new assistant coach of the Erie Otters.

Ryan Zapolski was named as the otters goalie coach Ryan a graduate of Cathedral Prep, played college hockey at Mercyhurst.

He then spent 10 years in professional hockey playing in the ECHL and AHL before finishing his career in multiple leagues throughout Europe.

Tuesday was his first day on the job. The Otters open the season Friday night in Kitchner before the home opener on Saturday.
