Emergycare Race Takes Over Downtown Erie

Groups made their way around Erie on Sunday through a series of obstacles and tests for the Second Annual Emergycare race.

Participants started at the Emergycare headquarters and competed in teams and worked through a variety of challenges to test their team work, fitness ability and knowledge.

This event was created to show the importance of the quick response by Emergycare.

It also raised funds for EMS education and was done in honor of Kyle Swain, an Emergycare EMT, volunteer fire fighter and U.S. Army solider who died due to a heat related injury.

Organizers say not only is it important for community members to see the work Emergycare does, but this event helps keep Swain's memory alive.
