Coroner Identifies Woman Hit by Vehicle in Parking Lot of Erie Grocery Store

The coroner has released the name of the woman who died after she was hit by a vehicle in the parking lot of a grocery store in the City of Erie.
Sylvia Nunamaker, 79, of Erie, was killed. Her death was ruled as accidental, and she died from multiple blunt force trauma, according to Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook.
It happened around 1:20 p.m. Monday in the parking lot of Tops Friendly Markets at W. 38th and Liberty St.
Nunamaker was walking out of the store while a car was pulling into the parking lot, Cook said.
She was run over by the vehicle and taken to UPMC Hamot but died while undergoing emergency surgery, according to the coroner.
