Vice President Kamala Harris is coming to Erie next week. 

Erie News Now has learned more information on Vice President Kamala Harris' upcoming visit to Erie.

According to the Harris Campaign, the rally is set to take place on Monday, October 14, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. 
 
The rally will be held at the Erie Insurance Arena, according to the Erie Police Department. 
 
This will be Vice President Harris' tenth visit to Pennsylvania since she announced here candidacy for president, but her first visit to Erie. 
 
Erie is a critical bellwether and has voted for the winner of the presidential election in every election since 2008. 
 
Deputy Chief Rick Lorah of the Erie Police Department says the department has been in contact with the secret service.
 
According to Lorah, the department will be fully staffed and ready to help out with safety measures on Monday.
 
Meanwhile, the Erie Democratic Party is also preparing for Harris' visit. The party has been placing new billboards throughout Erie, to help gain extra support.
 
"She has been all over PA, and the only area she hasn't visited is the north west," said Erie County Democratic Party Chairman Sam Talarico.  "I know we've been on the radar, we know it's going to be a close election state wide.  We know it's going to be a close election in Erie County, so every little thing helps and this isn't a little thing.  This is a big thing and we're hoping it will boost excitement even more."
