Drivers Get License Plates Checked with Legibility Event

People could get their license plates checked or replaced with an event on Saturday morning.

State Representative Bob Merski helped host the event at Joanna Connell Elementary School on East 38th Street.

The Erie Police Department was on hand to make sure the replacement was free, if it needed replaced.

Penndot officials also attended to make sure the license plate fit the criteria to be replaced.

If you are curious if your license plate needs replaced, a few things to check is if one or more numbers or letters cannot be recognized from 50 feet away, or if the plate is peeling or discolored.
