Son of Purple Heart Recipient, Adolph Hoffman, Shares his Father's Story of Service & Sacrifice: Remembering Our Veterans
Fred Hoffman is an assistant professor of intelligence studies at Mercyhurst University and has also spent 30 years serving our country.
His journey has been incredible, but he would rather talk about another family member. Hoffman told Erie News Now the story of his father who is also a veteran for this week's Remembering Our Veterans story.
At age 18, Adolph Hoffman, living in NYC, received his draft notice and eventually volunteered for the Battle Patrol.
In 1945, the U.S. Army veteran was in the Coal Mar region and was shot, becoming 100% disabled.
Adolph died 12 years ago, and his wife earlier this year. Arlington National Cemetery is their final resting place. Adolph Hoffman is also a Purple Heart recipient.
To Adolph and Fred Hoffman, thank you for your service.
