One of former President Donald Trump's biggest Republican critics made her way to Erie Thursday.

Jefferson Educational Society billed it as a conversation with Liz Cheney and Sister Joan Chittister to kick off Global Summit XVI.

Former Republican Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney has been an outspoken critic of Donald Trump for years.

She spoke to the crowd about the election, Jan. 6 and the Constitution.

"I believe firmly in conservative principles and limited government and low taxes, a strong national defense," said Cheney. "I'm a Ronald Reagan conservative. I know the very most conservative principle is fidelity to the Constitution. From my perspective, the oath of office that we all take as elected officials is not an oath to a political party; it's an oath to the Constitution."

Watch Erie News Now's Lisa Adams' full one-on-one interview with Liz Cheney on next week's edition of The Insider. It airs Sunday, Oct. 27, at 11 a.m.
