In a surprising turn of events, two recently opened restaurants in Warren—Mama Jane’s Eatery and River’s Edge of Warren—have permanently closed their doors, both announcing their closures within the same week.
River’s Edge had just celebrated its first anniversary, making the news particularly unexpected.
Representatives from the restaurants were unavailable for comment, but the Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry (WCCBI) has expressed concern about the closures' impact on the local economy, businesses, and workers.
John Papalia, Vice President of the WCCBI, emphasized the importance of local restaurants to Warren County’s quality of life. "It’s certainly something no one wants to see, and it’s very unfortunate for our business community and for our county as a whole," Papalia said. "Having places to go, things to do, and great places to eat is important. But hopefully, the community can rebound back."
In response to the closures, the WCCBI is offering support to those affected. They are encouraging anyone who has lost their job to submit their resume, promising to help connect them with local opportunities.
"For the people affected, we are happy to assist in any way possible, whether it’s getting resumes out to the business community or providing other assistance during these tough times," Papalia added.
For those impacted by the closures, the WCCBI is stepping up to help. More information about their services can be found, here.
