The National Comedy Center in Jamestown, New York is honoring the life and legacy of Norman Lear.

A new special exhibit celebrates Lear's legacy in comedy and civic engagement. The legendary comedy producer and writer passed away in December 2023 at 101 years old. This year marks the first modern election without Lear. He dedicated his life's work to championing all Americans' right to equal participation in the democratic process—starting with the right to vote.

The new installation inside the National Comedy Center features rare archival materials and curated excerpts from Lear's sitcoms. Those sitcoms include All in the Family, Maude, Good Times, and Sanford and Son.

The exhibit can be experienced in the National Comedy Center’s galleries through 2025 and online at ComedyCenter.org/Lear
