As Election Day approaches, security is ramping up across Pennsylvania, with extra measures in place to protect voters and staff.
In Warren County, sheriff’s deputies are increasing their presence as Election Day nears. Heightened security measures mean the courthouse will be maintaining their single entry point, a deputy will be stationed in the elections office all day, and there will be an increased police presence at polling sites alongside constables.
Sheriff Scott Neiswonger stated, “We are going to have deputies come out before the polls open and well after the polls open just to do some extra patrols, assist the elections office if there are any needs that arise, and just address the general safety at different polling locations within the county.”
Neiswonger emphasized that while Warren County has a history of peaceful elections, this year’s enhanced security is in response to state guidelines.
“Historically, Warren County has been very peaceful in the polling locations and during Election Day,” he said.
Local election officials are reporting strong early participation, with nearly 5,000 mail-in ballots received already. They indicate that with added support from law enforcement, they feel fully prepared to manage high turnout while keeping the process secure.
