This was not what Ariana Moyer was anticipating seeing the morning after Halloween.
“I went outside my house about 9 a clock this morning because I was getting ready to leave for work. I saw instantly, my side view mirror was smashed, and I was really disappointed because I thought it was a prank, like children. I took a step back, and I was like, ‘oh, it’s the whole car’,” Moyer said.
Moyer’s car was hit, there was no note and the person who hit the car had fled.
Moyer suspects that the person may have been drinking and driving.
“Maybe it’s something that’s kind of expected, so to say, after a holiday like this, because people do tend to go out and drink and drive. We as news people can do as much as we can and encourage people to have a DD, not drive drunk. But sadly, that is the reality, that things like this tend to happen,” Moyer said.
After filing a police report and calling her insurance, Moyer is hopeful the situation will resolve sooner rather than later.
“We found a piece of the alleged person who hit my car. We found a piece of their car and I used AI to search this piece and let me know what car it was from. So, I do feel a little bit more confident that there’s ring cameras and there’s a piece of this car. I do feel confident that maybe they’ll be able to find out who, but honestly, I just want to put it behind me and have it be done,” Moyer said.
