North East Police Department Investigate Suspicious Male Attempting to Pick Up Students

The North East Police Department is investigating an incident that was reported to the North East School District where a gray vehicle with a male driver allegedly pulled over and offered a student a ride. 

The student reported the incident to school personnel, according to the North East School District. 

The alleged incident occurred on Upper Orchard Beach Drive.

The School District providing the following safety tips for students walking to and from school:

• Walk with a buddy
• Choose a safe route: pick a safe, well-lit route to school
• Avoid distractions 
• Report suspicious behavior 
• Be visible 
• Obey traffic signals 
• Cross at crosswalks 
• Watch for turning vehicles
