The Erie Humane Society (EHS) Executive Director Nicole Leone has resigned effective Thursday, according to a statement from the Board of Directors.
Leone served as the Executive Director since 2015.
The Board of Directors will be conducting a nationwide search for a new executive director starting immediately. In the interim, Marketing Manager Emily McCullor and Facilities Manager Rob Lewis will serve as co-executive directors.
“During this transition, our mission to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome pets in need continues to be our top priority,” said EHS Board President Genna Druzak. “We look forward to identifying a new leader for our organization as soon as possible, and are confident in the team we have in place to seamlessly carry out this vital work in the interim.”
The reason for the resignation was not disclosed by the humane society.
