While North East is expected to get mostly rain Friday, the township has been preparing for when the flakes eventually fly.
They have six snowplows that cover six routes. Those plows only took a few days to get ready.
The salt is ready, too - about 2,500 tons of it.
The light winters of the last few years haven’t saved North East much money, said township supervisor Gus Neff.
"Easy winters do help on the budget a little but it's not as much as everybody might think because there's always work to be done in the municipalities," he said.
"We always have something that we can be doing."
He asks that drivers give plows room to work to clear the snow.
"Don't push snow across the road [and] pay attention to the snowplows. I mean, we've got to get a job done and these guys are just trying to do the best they can do," he said.
