A 38 year-old man from Millcreek is dead after he crashed his car into a home in Millcreek.
This isn't the first time the home has been hit. Hours later, the smell of smoke is still lingers at a home at the corner of Cherry and West Gore Road.
Susan Cason, a neighbor, described what she witnessed on Sunday morning, "The whole back of their house was in flames. Every single window had flames coming out of it. It was a miracle that they even survived."
A 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander crashed through the home causing it to catch on fire and led to the driver being killed. It was a sight that Cason couldn't believe. "This person had to be speeding to go in through their front of their house and into their kitchen. So, I'm sure speed had something to do with it, but I'm sure the location of their house is in a bad spot."
Meantime, other neighbors said this isn't the first time they have seen a car go into this home, in fact they have seen it happen multiple times with people going too fast.
Cason agreed, she said she's seen multiple accidents happen at this location, "That house has a history of cars hitting it. I've been here since I was in third grade and that house has been hit several times. Not like that but it has been hit in the past."
The couple who lived in the house got out safely and Cason said it's moments like these that remind her to be grateful, "Count your blessings every day, you never know when it's the last one. That poor soul that was in there. It was terrible to see that person burnt."
