Stuffing stockings and spreading holiday joy: a special drive is bringing cheer to veterans in nursing homes this year. Jenna Burton, a sixth-generation director, explains that they start the drive early to ensure all stockings are delivered in time for Christmas.

The 10th Annual Stocking for Soldiers campaign kicks off its first day at the Burton Scott-Quinn Funeral Home.

Jenna shared, "Recommended items include self-care items, toothbrush and paste, socks, gift cards, playing cards, anything that would be useful to a veteran or someone in a nursing home."

While a funeral home may not be the first place, you'd think of for holiday cheer, Burton assures that this is not the case this season.

Jenna explains, "When a lot of people think about funeral homes, they don’t think of many things, so we try to do a good thing for Christmas time and maybe help someone—or a lot of people. Our goal each year is 600 stockings, and if we have any extras, we donate them to charitable organizations."

This effort ensures that the Burtons leave no soldier forgotten this Christmas.
