Thanksgiving Travel Advice from AAA
AAA predicts that 80 million people will travel for the Thanksgiving holiday, potentially breaking records.
While millions will be taking off to fly to their destinations, AAA officials believe more people will be traveling by car this year.
But inclement weather could hinder their plans. Experts advise people to make sure their car is serviced before they hit the road and have an emergency kit with food, water, and extra supplies just in case. If severe weather hits, they also advise budgeting extra time in travels.
Jim Garrity, a Spokesperson for AAA said, "Give yourself extra time because that's going to put you in a position where you can drive slowly if you have to or if you run into some traffic, it's not going to cloud your judgment because you are running late."
Garrity also recommends consider changing the time of the departure or arrival due to the weather.
