Man Operating Horse and Buggy Dies from Injuries in Crawford County Crash

The man who was operating a horse and buggy has died form injuries he suffered in a crash in Crawford County earlier this month, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

The crash was reported Nov. 15 around 8:39 p.m. on State Highway 77 at Britton Run Rd.

The buggy - operated by Crist Byler, 61, of Centerville - was crossing Britton Run Road to continue north when he reportedly did not see a Ford truck heading east on State Highway 77, investigators said.

Byler was injured and taken to UPMC Hamot for treatment. He died Saturday from his injuries while undergoing medical treatment, according to troopers.

Two men - ages 54 and 30 from Spartansburg - who were in the truck were not injured in the crash, state police said.
