Millcreek Township's emergency management director on Thursday declared a snow and ice emergency due to the severe snowstorm that has caused widespread road closures, downed trees and wires and power outages.
It makes illegal for anyone to park a vehicle or leave a vehicle unattended on any snow emergency route or drive any vehicle on a snow emergency route that is not equipped with snow tires or chains.
The declaration will remain in place until Saturday, December 7 at 8 a.m.
