It's been a busy few days for the care team at Life NWPA, including driver Andrew Vitale.

He allowed us to follow along as he made a delivery of supplies and medication to participant Linda Peters in West Springfield.

Although weather conditions had improved some in the city of Erie, the delivery took place during a pretty heavy snow squall in western Erie County.

Linda was happy to see him coming and surprised that Life NWPA could make it out in the weather conditions.

Lisa Kraus, Vice President of Operations at Life NW Pa said her leadership team and staff met in advance of the storm to have a plan in place. "Whether they got home care, whether they had an appointment, whether they needed supplies, we did a wellness call check on every one of our participants," Kraus said. "So our staff reached out to speak to every participant to make sure they would be well cared for during this and if there was something that they needed that we made the arrangements to provide that.  So we delivered their meds, we delivered their supplies, if we needed to do a food box, if we needed to make arrangements for something we took care of those arrangements," she added.

They wanted to make sure that every one of their participants would stay safe and have everything they need through the duration of this challenging lake effect snow weather event.

Linda Peters appreciated the delivery.  "Oh it's important, sometimes very important, and I commend these guys for coming out in this weather, I mean I was surprised when they said it'll be delivered - I'm like, okay.

Life NWPA will keep up the extra effort as long as the snow event continues.
