The Erie Zoo will celebrate the launch of their centennial anniversary winter weekend hours with a Winter Wonderland event on December 14 and 15. 

The Winter Wonderland event will feature pictures with the Mean Green One, a craft station, live entertainment, and shopping at the Animal Art Show and Sale. 

"This is the first time in many years that we will be open during the winter months, and we couldn’t be more excited to share this experience with our community,” said Roo Kojancie, CEO of the Erie Zoo. “The animals and staff look forward to seeing everyone.”

Additionally, the zoo is partnering with Taradoodles' ToyBox of Erie. The zoo is encouraging guests to donate new, unwrapped toys for children ages 0-17 at the admission gates during the event. 

Guests will receive a ticket redeemable for a free face painting or glitter tattoo during the event for each toy donated. 

The Erie Zoo's winter hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the last admission at 3:15 p.m. on: 

  • December 14 & 15, 2024 
  • January 18 & 19, 2025
  • February 15 & 16, 2025
