The Millcreek School District and Crystal Goss have been in a two-week dispute over her first grader's bus stop, which is obstructed by snow, forcing the child to stand in the road.

Crystal Goss expresses concern over her 6-year-old son's bus stop, which is at the intersection between West Gore and Perkins, just two houses away from where Crystal lives. Goss said, "Unfortunately, our request to have his bus stop changed to his driveway for pick-up and drop-off was not an option, so we made other arrangements, like asking the district to plow a safe area for him to get to and stand."

Assistant Superintendent of Millcreek School District, Trevor Murdock, explains the process and how they evaluate the safety of students' bus stops, but ultimately, it comes down to how long it takes to get every child home. Murdock said, "Safety is always a number one priority, of course, but we do have to run our buses on a timetable that gets everyone to school and home at a reasonable hour."

Crystal Goss, a trauma physician's assistant, knows firsthand the dangers of bus stop safety that children face walking beside a busy road. She shares that her goal is not only to protect her own children but to ensure the safety of others as well.
