Chef Robert Irvine has made quite an impression on the Erie Community.

He's been involved with the Erie Police Department Athletic League and the Mellon Heritage Outreach Center in North East.

Friday morning, he made good on a promise to Erie High students.

Sean Perseo of Sunbelt Rentals and Erie Insurance CEO Tim Necastro represented Irvine at the School.

Irvine gave the students dozens of high-end knives for the Culinary Arts program.

Instructor Paul Blackmer said the gift "is a game changer for the program."

Irvine will return to Erie early next year to participate in the annual Police Athletic League Ball.
