If you’re tempted to be a porch pirate, think again. Trying to take someone else’s Christmas deliveries could land you in big trouble with the law.

City of Erie police caught a group of 6 or 7 porch pirates Saturday stealing packages in broad daylight in the residential area around Tops Market at W. 38th and Liberty St.

According to police, the thieves were ages 14 to 16. Officers not only caught the suspects but also recovered some of the packages and were able to return them to their rightful owners.

At least one of the teens has been charged so far.
