The City of Erie Police Department is continuing to investigate after two teens were shot on Liberty Street Tuesday night. 

The shooting resulted in the death of one of the teens. 

It was reported at W. 31st and Liberty St. around 4 p.m.

Neighbors said they heard multiple gunshots.

Erie County Coroner Lyle Cook confirmed with Erie News Now, that a 17 year old male was shot at the corner of West 31st and Liberty Streets. He was pronounced dead at 4:47 p.m.

Police say the shooting was a drive by, and that it was a targeted shooting. Deputy Chief Rick Lorah told Erie News Now that one group of individuals in a vehicle opened fire on another group of individuals.

The teenagers were driven to Saint Vincent Hospital by a private vehicle. One was pronounced dead at the hospital, while the other 17 year old is expected to survive. The other teen was shot in the mouth according to police.

Erie Police say this is an ongoing investigation. Forensic evidence has been recovered and multiple search warrants have been served, with more planned to be served. No arrests have been made at this point.
