The Millcreek Township is taking steps toward establishing a new community center by potentially pursuing the purchase of the Zem Zem Shrine Club property. Steps toward creating Millcreek Township's first community center are moving forward after township officials approved a letter of intent during a recent township meeting.

Ashley Marsteller said, "We are interested in this property because it really is an ideal property for us, and that is repurposing the building and facility that people know and love and that is recognizable. It's also so centered in our township."

The Director of Parks and Recreation with Millcreek Township, Ashley Marsteller, shares that the next steps include a five-month due diligence period, a feasibility study, and a public input session to determine the future of the proposed community center.

Ashley explains that while the new community center would have many benefits for residents, it would not impact the Zem Zem Club, as both organizations plan to work together to serve the community's needs. Ashley Marsteller said, "There shouldn't be much changing with them anytime soon, and then they are going to be proceeding with building a smaller building but really nice new facility."
