The Erie City Council voted on establishing a Tenant Bill of Rights during Wednesday night's meeting. 

The bill started with a group called the Erie Spiritual Coalition after they gained over 300 signatures on a petition.

The document would show all the rights guaranteed to tenants by either state, federal or local law.

Melinda hall, from the coalition explained why the bill is necessary for City residents. 

Wednesday night's first reading of the bill passed unanimously.
