Glenwood Methodist Church Distributes Holiday Meals to Local Residents in Need
It has been an annual tradition for 12 years at the church, giving out holiday meals from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.
The church on the corner of Myrtle and Peach streets distributed 98 meals this year to their regular food pantry clients, partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank to order meals ahead of time and handing them out during their drive thru in the parking lot.
Food Pantry Coordinator Ann Marie Ernst says it's a holiday tradition that never gets old, and they intend to spread a joyful holiday message
"Hopefully it saves them on some grocery bills so that they can use it for their gifts," Ernst said. "We just hope that when they are partaking in their dinner, they think of us."
If you are in need of food assistance, the church says to reach out to their phone number at 814-456-6268.
