A boil water advisory is still in effect in North East.

Upon learning that the boil water advisory was being put into place Friday afternoon, Superintendent Michele Hartzell took action by contacting the district supervisor of facilities to shut off the school's water supply and informed all athletic programs about the situation.

Dr. Michele Hartzell said, "We also notified our director of athletics, and then he notified all the coaches, because we had a game on Saturday, and the away team brought water bottles. We also had additional bottled water for our athletes."

When asked what protocols were in place to ensure water safety at the school, Dr. Hartzell said, "The township will come in and test our water to ensure it is safe, and they also work with the Department of Health."
