Two of the Erie Humane Society’s longest-stay residents found forever homes to spend the holiday season and start the new year.
The longest-stay dog, Marigold, had been patiently waiting 1 year, 5 months and 3 days for a place to call her own. She was a foster-to-adopt candidate, and her foster family made her an official family member on Dec. 23.
The miracle did not stop there. Ziggy, their longest-stay cat, also found his forever home on Dec. 23. He had been at the shelter for 1 year, 9 months and 21 days.
