Giving Back and Giving Thanks in Warren County
The spirit of giving was shining bright in Warren this week as the Bucket Brigade Pizza Company hosted their annual "Christmas Give Back" event.
Over 200 free, wood-fired pizzas were prepared and served to community members, all part of the Bucket Brigade Pizza Company's annual "Christmas Give Back" day.
In collaboration with the First Church of the Nazarene in Warren, it’s a tradition that has quickly become a favorite for many in the community.
"This day isn't just because of the Pizza Company, it's a big collaborative effort," said Eric Hastings, owner of Bucket Brigade Pizza Company. "It's so much more. But we do this because no one should be alone on Christmas, and no one should go hungry.”
“It feels good to help and make people’s day on Christmas,” stated Ava Robbins, volunteer.
“The community support here is amazing," added fellow volunteer Ashley Spicer. "There are food pantries and so many different opportunities to serve, but this is my favorite. It's especially important to me because two years ago I was homeless, so I know how much these simple gestures can mean, and how much this can help.”
Funding for the "Christmas Give Back" event came directly from customer tips which were saved throughout the year, resulting in an incredible community wide event, and a heartwarming reminder of the true spirit of the holidays.
