The Cost of Going to Unique Destinations in 2025
If you were hoping to travel more in the new year, there's a handful of unique places you can travel to in the coming months, but there's a few things to keep in mind when booking.
When planning your trip, local travel agents said it's best to book in advance. Some airlines start booking as early as eleven months out, but it's best to start making plans six months before you plan to depart.
When it comes to flying, Tuesday and Wednesday are the best days for travel since people aren't dealing with those who may be traveling for work or getting away for a long weekend.
If travelers have a specific event or place in mind to travel to, the costs could look a little different, especially if they are booking last minute. For example, if you want to head to New York City to watch the ball drop on New Year's Eve, it's possible, but it will cost you a pretty penny. Carla Agnello, the Vice President of Cappabianca Travel explained, "So if you are the spur of the moment and want to cross off that one bucket list destination and watch the ball drop. Out of Buffalo with air fare and hotel accommodations and insurance $1,550 per person."
Another big trip in 2025 is heading to New Orleans for the big game, there's still time to book, but it could get expensive. According to Agnello, "So with air out of Erie and hotel space and insurance, that's going to cost $3000 a person, $2,826. "
Italy is a top destination for travel for 2025 because they will be celebrating their Jubilee year. Millions of more people are expected to travel there all year long.
Agnello has some extra tips when it comes to travel; book and plan early, check the airlines you are planning on using for hidden fees like seat assignments and extra costs for checked bag, and always use travel insurance.
