Steve Huzar served in World War II and earned six Purple Hearts. The top priority for this graduate of East High School was always taking care of others.
His son and two grandsons gathered to talk about his courageous efforts, and the inspiration he continues to provide.
After serving in the U.S. Army for three years, Huzar returned home and had an incredible career. He worked at the V.A. in Erie and Buffalo for years. Steve also hosted a bowling show in the 1950s on WICU and he two-stepped across the country.
Steve passed away about 19 years ago, but he remains the talk of many family holiday gatherings.
