The Bayfront Convention Center will host two cheer and dance events organized by Champion Cheer Central this weekend.

On Saturday, the Winter Beach Bash Cheer and Dance Championships will feature 90 teams with over 1,000 participants from Ohio, New York, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

The competition will run through Sunday.

Also on Sunday, the Winter National Recreational Cheer and Dance Championships will be held in Erie for the first time.

The event will bring 56 teams and nearly 700 participants to the Bayfront Convention Center.

“We’re thrilled to introduce the Winter Recreation Nationals for the first time this year,” said Heather
Petz, co-owner of Champion Cheer Central. “It’s an exciting new event that celebrates inclusivity and
sportsmanship, giving our recreational teams a chance to shine on a national stage.”

Additionally, the 41st annual Burger King Classic will take place at the Joann Mullen Gymnasium at Hagerty Family Events Center on Saturday.

Richmond Heights (Ohio) and Archbishop Wood will face off at 6 p.m. before Cathedral Prep faces off against Aliquippa at 7:30 p.m.
