Erie Sports Commission Opens Applications for 2025 Facility Matching Funds Program
The Erie Sports Commission (ESC) has opened applications for its Facility Matching Funds Program. Applications will close on March 31.
The Facility Matching Funds Program was introduced in 2018 as part of the Erie Sports Commission's mission to enhance local sports facilities and support the development of sports infrastructure.
The grant will support projects and equipment updates that will enhance the recipients ability to host sporting events, thereby increasing the potential for economic impact through sports tourism.
Since 2018, the Sports Commission has awarded a total of $165,700.
This year, $75,000 in matching funds will be awarded. This is a 25 percent increase from the $60,000 awarded in 2024.
“We are dedicated to supporting the venues that partner with us to host events and to promote Erie as a top destination for sports year-round,” said ESC Executive Director Mark Jeanneret. “We recognize the importance of funding for venue operators and look forward to awarding grants that enhance local facilities. This year, we hope to see more applications as the program continues to grow.”
Applicants can request matching funds up to $15,000. Additionally, applicants must be located within Erie County.
All projects must reach at least 50 percent completion by December 31 of the year the grant is awarded.
Past recipients include: ASCEND Climbing, Erie Sports Center, Eastland Bowl, Flo Fabrizio Ice Center, LECOM Sports Park, Around the Post, and more.
Interested individuals can apply on the Erie Sport Commission's website.
