Mercy Center for Women Secures $45,000 in State Funding
The Shapiro Administration is investing $34.3 million dollars to strengthen Pennsylvania communities.
Today, state officials announced funding through the Neighborhood Assistance Program, which supports nonprofits improving neighborhoods.
Governor Shapiro's budget doubles the program's funding to $72 million next year.
Part of the investment includes $45,000 to the Mercy Center for Women.
The money will go to renovate the Holy Rosary Rectory into housing for women reentering society after incarceration.
The project will provide supportive housing for 12 to 15 women.
