An Erie man will spend more than a decade behind bars for distributing and attempting to distribute child sex abuse material, according to the U.S. Department of Justice on Monday.

A federal judge sentenced Michael Ambrose, 44, to 12 years in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release.

He was also ordered to pay $48,000 in restitution to seven identified victims.

Investigators said it happened in November 2022.
