Malcolm Spence Departs Otters for University of Michigan
After three seasons with the Erie Otters, forward Malcolm Spence announced on Instagram Monday that he has committed to the University of Michigan for the 2025-26 season.
Spence is a projected first-round pick in the upcoming NHL Draft that will take place at the end of June.
The 18-year-old had 32 goals and 73 points in 65 regular season games last season. He added four goals and nine points during two rounds of the playoffs.
Spence was the second overall pick in the 2022 OHL Priority Selection. He represented Canada at the CHL/USA Prospects Challenge this season and helped Canada win gold medals at the 2023 Hlinka Gretzky Cup and the 2024 U18 World Championship.
