Important Information
- Several thousand Erie County voters did not receive mail in ballots on time due to problems with an outside vendor.
- Anyone who requested a mail-in ballot before the Oct. 29 deadline but has not received one can go to the Erie County Courthouse, Elections Voter Registration Office (140 W 6th St., Room 112) for a new ballot.
- Any voter who requested a mail ballot but did not return the ballot may vote a provisional ballot at their assigned polling place on Election Day instead.
- If a voter received their mail-in ballot but wants to vote in person on Election Day, they can bring their mail-in ballot to to their polling site. The ballot will be canceled so they can vote with a normal ballot instead of a provisional one.
- The Board of the Elections to the following steps to help voters:
- Extended its office hours Monday (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.)
- Set up a phone line specifically for voters with disabilities or illnesses who cannot come to the office. The number is 814-451-6011.
- Ordered an additional 25,000 paper ballots from an alternate vendor.
Important Deadlines
- Nov. 5 - Last day for county election office to receive completed mail-in and civilian absentee ballots (must be received by 8 p.m.)
- Nov. 5 - GENERAL ELECTION
- Polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Nov. 12 - Last day for county election office to receive completed military and overseas absentee ballots (submitted for delivery no later than 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 4)
