A big celebration Tuesday in Saegertown.
LORD Corporation is celebrating their 50th anniversary.
The Saegertown facility is a chemical plant that makes adhesives, and supplies their product all over the world.
Some elected officials, along with LORD Corporation leadership and employees, gathered for an outdoor event Tuesday afternoon.
All to say thank you for 50 successful years.
Lord Saegertown currently employs 215 people.
"We have a solid group of employees. We also are able to recruit talented employees whether it's in our engineering needs or production needs or whatever support group we need. Northwest Pennsylvania is a good place to recruit people, people that live here like to stay here so it's a great place to be." Said LORD Corporation President and CEO, Rick McNeel.

We also asked McNeel about the Erie plant.
They're moving operations to the old Bush Industries site, in Summit township.
McNeel says so far, they've cleared out half the building, and construction should start within a couple months.

Also, recently, LORD announced they're moving 40 professional jobs to their headquarters in Cary, North Carolina.
That move worried some that it was an indication the company would be moving out of Erie, but McNeel says that's not the case.

"That decision was always part of the plan, even when we made all the decisions up here; consolidating some of our IT and customer service support groups in Cary. But we made commitments on a number of employees that we're going to add in Northwest PA over the next the past 3-4 years, and we're well ahead of pace on that because we've hired a lot of people in the past 18 months." Said McNeel

Lord says, over the next few years they plan to spend up to $60 Million dollars, and hire about 100 new workers, locally.
