The Pennsylvania Court of Judicial Discipline today issued a reprimand to Erie District Judge Tom Carney. The action stemmed from a gun waving incident between Carney and another driver.
Today's hearing in Harrisburg came 3 years after ethics charges against Carney were dismissed. But the Pennsylvania State Supreme Court reversed that ruling and ordered the hearing.
After listening to testimony today, the court voted unanimously for the reprimand, the mildest form of punishment it could impose.
Carney was not fined or suspended.
Defense attorney David Ridge said he was pleased with the decision that came 5 years after the incident.
