A dead body was found in the water in the basin of the Presque Isle Yacht Club Friday morning.

First responders and water rescue crews were called out around 11:02 a.m. after a man walking along the dock of the Presque Isle Yacht Club found the body floating in the water against the west wall between the Bayfront Convention Center and Sheraton Erie Bayfront Hotel.

The body is a man believed to be in his 30s or 40s, according to Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook. As of now, there are no signs of foul play, Cook told Erie News Now.

It could take several days for the coroner's office to identify the man.

Police plan to review surveillance cameras in the area to figure out what happened to the victim.
