Pennsylvania State Police are looking for the suspects who exchanged gunfire with officers during an attempted traffic stop in the City of Erie overnight, according to a news release.

It happened around 1:40 a.m. Saturday at Chestnut and Huron St.

Troopers and City of Erie Police attempted to stop a car, but the suspects in the vehicle fire multiple shots at the officers before taking off on foot, State Police said.

At least one officer returned fire at the suspect, according to troopers.

The suspects remain at large, and no officers were injured, investigators said.
