Officials from Allegheny Health Network, AHN Saint Vincent and Highmark Health, gathered on Monday to cut the ribbon, on the new AHN Saint Vincent Wound Center.

The new center, a $2.4 million investment in construction and new equipment, is located adjacent to the hospital's previous center, on the first floor of the hospital at the Sassafras Street entrance.

Wound Center Medical Director, Dr. Wayne Jones told Erie News Now, "We have patients that have a real need for wound care and it sounds odd or unusual, but if you are a patient with a wound of more than three months, and you don't know what to do, come in and see us and we'll help you out."

AHN President, Dr. Chris Clark called the new facility, "a long time in the making and a lot of people were involved to make this happen."

According to Dr. Jones, AHN is the first and oldest Wound Care Center in the Erie Region.
