Suspect Arrested in Death of Corry Woman
Pennsylvania State Police have arrested a suspect in the alleged homicide of a woman from Corry.
Police filed criminal charges against Yohance Mercer-Huffman, accusing him of shooting and killing Julie Anne Wegmiller and critically injuring her husband, Edwin Wegmiller.
Julie Anne Wegmiller was found dead in a pickup truck on September 30th on River Road in New Castle. Her husband was found outside the vehicle with an apparent gunshot and was taken to the hospital.
Police charged Mercer-Huffman with criminal homicide, criminal attempt-criminal homicide, aggravated assault, discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure and related firearms violations.
He was taken into custody during a traffic stop on State Route 422 in Lawrence County and taken to the jail there.
