The coroner has released the identity of the man who was fatally hit by a vehicle while crossing a downtown Erie street on Saturday.
Robert Doty, 38, of Erie, was attempting to cross the intersection at W. 12th and Peach St. around 1 a.m. Saturday when he was hit by a westbound Subaru.
He suffered head trauma and was rushed to UPMC Hamot where he died late Saturday afternoon.
His death was ruled as accidental due to multiple blunt force trauma, according to Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook.
Investigators have not said if the man was crossing with the light or if the driver had a green light.
They hope security camera video from Arby's or other nearby businesses will provide some answers.
