State Police Identify Woman Killed in Pedestrian, Truck Crash Near Union City

Pennsylvania State Police have identified the woman who was killed in a crash involving a pedestrian and pickup truck in Union Township, Erie County, on Monday.
It was reported in the 9500 block of Route 6 east of Mitchell Rd. near Union City around 3:38 p.m.
Melissa Arnold, 42, of Corry, had parked her car near the Union City Reservoir and was walking across the road when she was hit by a passing Chevrolet truck and killed, according to troopers.
Arnold was on her cellphone at the time of the incident, state police said. The truck was navigating a S-curve just east of Arnold before the crash, according to investigators.
There is no word from the police on whether the 47-year-old male driver of the vehicle that hit her was hurt.
